About Psalm 112: The Just Man:

Psalm 112: The Just Man (2014) is a setting of the responsorial Psalm for the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time in Year A of the Lectionary Cycle in the Roman Catholic liturgy.  This piece may also be used for other celebrations in which this Psalm text would be appropriate.  The music of the refrain is meant to reflect the text's assertion that "the just man is a light in darkness to the upright," by gradually moving from a minor key to a major key while also making use of a crescendo.  While the verses are meant to be proclaimed by Cantor alone, there are SATB choral parts included with the Refrain to enhance the response of the Assembly.
