About The Light Has Come:

The Light Has Come (2009) is a festive but haunting a cappella Christmas Anthem for SATB Choir.  The original text celebrates Christ's coming into the world at Christmas as a light to dispel the darkness.  The unaccompanied nature of the piece and intricate tonal harmonies make for a rewarding challenge for a volunteer choir, and choristers will enjoy the rehearsal process as the piece begins to come together.  This piece works well as either a liturgical anthem or part of a choral concert repertoire.

Below, I have included a MIDI audio rendering of the score to give you a sense of the piece.  As always, bear in mind that electronic choral/vocal samples are unable to interpret lyric texts, so you will not hear any of the text of the piece, only "ah's".  In addition, many of the more musical, human interpretations of things like fermatas or phrasing are not always apparent in such renderings.
